Junior Volunteers commit to volunteering one morning a week (Saturday or Sunday) for a school year. Volunteers must be at least 14 years old.

Teenagers aged 14 to 18 are invited to apply for the BZS Junior Volunteer Programme for the current year. The programme requires a commitment of a Saturday or Sunday morning from October to June (8:30 am–noon). Our JVs learn about animal care and exhibit maintenance and help educate visitors to BAMZ. Work includes feeding animals, cleaning exhibits, collecting specimens and talking to visitors. Participants enjoy meeting peers from other schools and going on field trips to nature reserves and marine parks. This is an ideal programme for teens involved in award schemes or for those who require community-service hours.

Applications for the current year must be received by Labour Day. Short-listed students will be interviewed; the programme begins in early October.
