  6. It is essential that all interns have medical coverage for the period of internship, proof of which should accompany the intern. Neither BAMZ, BZS, nor the ACP is responsible for any medical expenses incurred while the intern is in Bermuda.

I release the Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo, Bermuda Zoological Society and the Atlantic Consdrvation Partnership collectively or individually, its trustees, directors, officers, employees, representatives from all actions, proceedings, claims and demands from all liability during my stay in Bermuda. Intern Opportunities include:

Ernest E. Stempel Foundation Summer Internship Programme for Bermudian Students (up to five internship positions annually).

The Atlantic Conservation Partnership Internship Program for American Students (up to two internship positions annually).

The John L. and Karen C. Pye Memorial Scholarship for a Canadian Student (one internship position annually)

Positions are available in the Zoo, Aquarium, Marine Operations, Education or Conservation Research. Interns must commit to a six-week and a five-day work-week of uninterrupted duration. They must be registered in a university at upper-division undergraduate standing (i.e. Junior or Senior) or in a graduate programme. Students expecting to do research for credit towards a degree during their internship must liaise with their university advisor and programme supervisor in Bermuda before arriving in Bermuda to determine exact requirements, particularly the type of data collection and analysis that is expected.

INTERNSHIPS 2012

Internship begins 9:00 am Monday, 25th June and ends on Wednesday, 1st August 2012, for a period of six weeks. Interns should arrive in Bermuda Sunday, 24th June 2012. Accommodation will be booked through 5th August 2012.

Applications must be submitted by March 15. Complete applications submissions will include:

  • A completed application form
  • A résumé with two references
  • A transcript from your school’s registrar (it does not have to be an official copy)
  • A letter of interest stating reasons for participating and desired personal outcome.
  • Completed medical form

SELECTION:
The Internship Committee will review all applications and select the participants. Selection will favour candidates thought likely to benefit the most from the internship, e.g., those with proven capability and readiness to accept the demands of the programme. Successful candidates will be notified by e-mail.
